Sarah Florence Hamilton is my 3rd great grand aunt. In all my time of being a genealogist, I always had a connection to her. After a lot of research, I found that we have very much in common.
Sarah was born on August 17th 1875 in Pulaski, Georgia. She was the daughter of James Milton Hamilton, and Mary Susanna Whitehead. Sarah was named after her grandmother, Sarah West (her mother's mother). She was the 7th out of 8 children. Sarah's father, James passed away on January 28th 1881, Sarah was 5 years old.
Sarah married Judge David A. P. Crum on June 17th 1896, she was 20 years old, the wedding took place at First United Methodist Church in Hawkinsville. Sarah was described as one of Hawkinsville's most loveliest and accomplished young ladies. Sarah and David had 7 children together. Sarah's mother, Mary passed away in 1917, Sarah was 41 years of age. Her husband, David passed away in 1929 when Sarah was 54.
Sarah was a beloved member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution). In her older years, she developed Parkinsons Disease and later passed away in 1935 at the age of 61, due to Multiple Neuritus and Arthritis , inflammation of the peripheral nerves.
Sarah's legacy still lives on.
